Funding
Funds for the Incorporation will be raised in the following manner:

Invitation for membership subscription and donations. The annual subscription fee will be determined by the Committee. Upon incorporation, the annual subscription fee will be $50.

Corporate and business sponsorship to be invited. Participating corporations and businesses will have their official Logo on our website.

Fund-raising by the Committee and its members, throughout the year. Corporations will be invited to hold their own ‘Heart Tree Dedication Ceremony’ as a way of sponsorship and support.

The annual online Heart Tree fund-raiser. Corporations and the public can participate in the online Heart Tree fund-raiser beginning in February for the target of February 14, Valentine’s Day.

Sale of tote bags to business and public. Public will receive free bag through the loyalty program and purchase extra bags from the retailers that participate in the loyalty program.

Sale of tote bags to primary schools, kindergartens and Early learning centres, to be used at the beginning of every school year as a fund-raiser. The bags will be supplied at a discount, enabling the schools, kindergartens and ELCs to add a profit margin for their fund-raising.
Funds Dispersion
The following Institutions will be the recipients of funds raised by BESI:
80% of funds will be allocated to the Healthy Lifespan and Chronic Diseases Program at RMIT University School of Health and Biomedical Sciences, led by award-winning Cancer researcher, Distinguished Prof Vasso Apostolopoulos and her team of researchers.
20% of funds will be allocated to the following institutions:

Victoria University
Applications for funding will be examined by the Committee of Bags for Earth and Science Inc and selected on the merits of the research project for which the funds are required.
